Real Forio, Peppe Di Maio: "We're on another level. We need unity around the project."

On the day that marked Real Forio's restart, Saturday, August 1st, one of the most symbolic faces attending the Oasis was undoubtedly Peppe Di Maio. Vice president of the club, but above all one of the founders of the project that restored dignity and a future to Forio football, Di Maio spoke in a direct and sincere tone, calling everyone to a spirit of collective responsibility.

“In 2014, we started from scratch. Football in Forio was on its knees, and with Vito Manna and Luigi Esposito, we built something with limited resources but a wealth of ideas. At first, it was all artisanal, but today we're at another level. And it's not just a question of category: it's a question of structure, of seriousness, of method.” Di Maio highlighted the leap in quality the club has made, now able to compete with semi-professional clubs: “Our technical, medical, and logistical staff have Serie C standards. But to play football like this, you also need people who truly believe in it. And Luigi Amato, over the past five years, has proven himself. He didn't just bring money: he brought heart, truth, and presence. And the fans know this.”

Di Maio made an appeal to the fans: "The season ticket campaign isn't just a financial issue. It's an act of love, a sign of solidarity. I invite everyone to do their part. As I have always done, with humility. Because today, more than ever, we need unity. This project deserves support. I'm not speaking as a manager, but as a citizen of Forio. We've earned respect, now we must defend it together."

And to the team, a simple yet incisive message: “The season doesn't start on August 20th. It starts today. Every detail matters. And one day, when football time is over, these moments will remain in our memories.”
